NEW ESTONIAN LOCAL SECTION

The Estonian Local Section of EUROSCIENCE was formally established and registered on the eve of 2004 as a non-profit organization with its own Statutes, in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Estonia. Its official name of the is Euroscience Eesti (Euroscience Estonia). The Tallinn University will be an umbrella organization hosting Euroscience Eesti. A Web Page in Estonian and English of Euroscience Eesti is currently under construction.

Currently The chairman of Euroscience Eesti is Professor of Tallinn University Dr. Peeter Normak, while the vice-chairmen are Mr. Toomas Vitsut, the head of the of Tallinn City Council and Dr. Izold Pustolnik, Senior research associate at the Tartu Observatory.

The Estonian Local Section is interested in keeping regular contacts with all the Working groups established by Euroscience and plans specifically to participate in current activities of the following groups: Science Policy, Technology Transfer in Europe, and Public Awareness of Science.
