Euroscience Bucharest Board Meeting

26-28 September 2003

The event started with a one-day workshop on the 26 September, organised by the Romanian Section of Euroscience with the financial support of Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft and Unesco Venice office ROSTE on "European Research Area, Regional Scientific Co-operation in Southeast Europe, Pathways for stabilizing the RTD". Programme available at http://www.biodyn.ro/web-eurosc/ESWorkshop.html

The issue of the workshop of co-operation was taken up and enlarged the next day by the meeting of Euroscience local section representatives from Central and Eastern Europe, aimed at exchanging experience and developing contacts between and with these countries, enhancing one pillar of Euroscience goals, i.e. contributing to create a LARGE European area for Science and Technology.

The actual Board meeting included a special section dedicated to Euroscience main project for 2004, EuroScience Open Forum - ESOF, the first pan-European interdisciplinary scientific meeting, where scientists, policy makers, journalists, and the Public will have a first opportunity to witness and take part on the current development of European science.
