Technology Transfer

Presentation

Technology, as a socio-economic phenomenon in a holistic approach, challenges a dynamic and complex pattern of associated mechanisms for spatial and temporal flow of its own: Technological innovation via co-ordination of R&D is subject to transfer of hardware, information and knowledge. While hardware transfer is interpreted as transfer of equipment, materials and information systems, the transfer of information comprises data, documentation, software, standards, specifications, licenses and guidelines.

Subsequently, transfer of knowledge requires a complete understanding of both origins and focal impacts of technology in progress, considering the competence to plan, manage and evaluate applications, skills and know-how.

In order to strengthen RTD objectives in Europe, from the top-level perspective of a scientific community and scaled up to intra-organisational activities toward indsutrial incubation, we appeal to you to join our team.

The following general objectives build up the framework of our task force:

  1. Initiation and strengthening links between international RTD communities and Euroscience
  2. Support and promotion of concrete and case-oriented co-operation between scientists, researchers and the industrial sector.
  3. Improvement of both information and knowledge dissemination on RTD within Euroscience
  4. Design of technology transfer channels for young scientists in Europe
  5. Establishment regional information servers and correspondents for technological transfer via Internet

Further segmentation is superimposed considering particular scientific and technological disciplines, dependent upon the individual motivation and collaboration of the specialists originated both from the academic as well as the industrial sectors.
This may envision a synergistic approach towards trans-disciplinary innovations as required for instance on the sector of biotechnologies and information technologies.
A tight co-operation and active linkage to other working groups in Euroscience is regarded to serve as the fundamental leit-motive of "the working group for technology transfer in Europe" in order to ensure optimal retrieval and transfer of knowledge-based information.
