EuroScience was present in many ways at ESOF 2012. EuroScience had a stand in the exhibition hall where everyone could meet the EuroScience team and also organised various sessions and welcoming receptions.


The organisers of the Festival are pleased to announce the success of the European Science TV and New Media Festival 2012, which was held at Trinity College Dublin between 13-15 July 2012.


“Debate on Scientific Publishing and Open Access” and “Opportunities and challenges for the next generation of European scholars” are the regular sessions in the career programme held at ESOF 2012.

The Rammal Award 2011 has been granted to SESAME (Synchrotron-light for Experimental Science and Applications in the Middle East) by EuroScience during ESOF Dublin.


The 2012 European Young Researchers’ Award (EYRA) recognizing researchers with up to five years’s experience after their first PhD was bestowed to Dr. Davide Scaramuzza (Artificial Intelligence Lab, University of Zurich).


“Time to simplify the representation of European research”, “Boosting Frontier Research in Europe” and “South Eastern Europe Facing the Knowledge Society” are the top down sessions held at ESOF 2012.


22 highly qualified candidates applied for the Governing Board Elections 2012 and the results were announced on 14 July at the EuroScience General Assembly held in Dublin during ESOF 2012.


“Is collaboration with Russia vitally important for Europe?” and “Research Integrity: Developing codes of conduct for researchers” are the regular sessions in the scientific programme at ESOF 2012.


The Swiss Embassy in Ireland, the Swedish Research Council and CNRS in collaboration with EuroScience had run a call for travel grants to ESOF 2012 for young researchers.
