EuroScience has several different activities, which usually have a dedicated website and database. The technician will be responsible for maintaining and improving existing websites and information systems, developing new ones and administrating any technical aspect of the office work (mail server, phone system, file storage, etc…).
Since some projects are too big to be handled by the office, EuroScience sometimes works with partners, in which case the technician is the interface (project manager) between the office and their service providers. This involves a database system and a conference and members platform.
As a helpdesk technician, he or she will be responsible for supporting other employees in their daily tasks (advice on how to use the existing tools, prospection to find ways to automatize the co-worker tasks or to find new tools, as well as solving any IT related issue they might have).
As a Web developer
Good knowledge of WordPress.
Good knowledge of HTML + CSS (especially for Responsive Design) and PHP.
Knowledge in Search Engine Optimisation.
Knowledge of MailChimp, Google Analytics and Google webmasters tools.
As a Database and Helpdesk technician
Basic Database administration – PhpMyAdmin (creation of table, structure of data, basic SQL requests).
DNS management (Gandi, OVH).
Exchange server administration.
Knowledge of Office 2013 and Windows 7 & 8.
- University degree, preferably bachelor (e.g. Web development, network administration).
- Fluency in English and French (speaking, writing).
- Active interest in science.
- Preferably international experience (e.g. training internship).
- This position requires occasional travelling.
