The European Alliance for Social Sciences and Humanities EASSH just published a position paper that comments on the 4th Monitoring Report published by the European Commission on the integration of social sciences and humanities in Horizon 2020.
The conclusions are rather alarming. There is no improvement. EASSH rightly stresses that improvements are needed at three levels: design, implementation and evaluation, and the methodology for monitoring scientific and interdisciplinary contributions. As with the gender issue, the very low number of evaluators from the social sciences and humanities is almost bound to lead to underrepresentation.
