The organizers of the European Science TV & New Media Festival are pleased to announce the Call for the TV programmes or New Media productions for 2017/18.
The European Young Researchers’ Award (EYRA) is granted since 2010 to researchers demonstrating outstanding research performance and leadership. It aims to inspire early stage researchers to incorporate a European dimension and perspective into their research. This year’s call is dedicated to PhD candidates.
The festival and Awards evening composed of a rich screening programme and talks was held betwen 1-4 December 2016 in Lisbon, Portugal. The organizers are proud to announce the eight winners in the following categories.

As part of dissemination, some of the winning audio-visual productions of the European Science TV & New Media Festival in 2015 were presented at the European Researchers’ Night on 30 September 2016 at CERN (the European Organization for Nuclear Research).
EuroScience has decided to introduce a new accolade in “Recognition of Lifetime Achievements for European Science and Society”. The first recipient of this award is Robert-Jan Smits. Browse through the pictures of this memorable event.
European Commission, Director-General for Research and Innovation, Mr. Robert-Jan Smits is the first person to receive the new ‘EuroScience Recognition of Lifetime Achievements for European Science and Society’.
The 2015 and 2016 Rammal Medals have been awarded to Professors Oum Kalthoum Ben Hassine and Professor Valérie Delague, respectively. The awards ceremony will be held at ESOF in Manchester on 25 July 2016.
The EYRA Selection Committee has unanimously recommended to share the European Young Researchers’ Award (EYRA) 2016 between Marta Entradas and Martijn Wieling. The EYRA Award ceremony will be held at ESOF in Manchester on 25 July 2016.
