The award ceremony took place on 15 July 2022, (16:00 – 17:00 CEST) in Stadsgehoorzaal: meeting room Aalmarktzaal, Leiden, the Netherlands and was also simultaneously broadcasted to all online ESOF delegates. The three finalists presented their research to the public and the winners of the two awards were announced during the ceremony.
Excellent European research across all disciplines is of prime importance for the well-being and prosperity of Europe. EuroScience wishes to encourage the most talented young researchers to pursue a career based on research in research institutions or in other academic professions.
The European Young Researchers’ Award (EYRA), granted by EuroScience since 2010, aims to inspire early-stage researchers in all research areas to incorporate a European dimension and perspective into their research. Two awards are granted every two years to: a) a PhD candidate and b) a postdoctoral fellow.
The International Selection Committee for EYRA 2019-2020 has selected Michael Bossetta as the recipient of the EYRAward for PhD students and Valentina Sessini as the recipient of the EYRAward for Postdocs.
In view of the remarkable level of the candidates the Jury will again organize a European Young Researchers Popular Prize. The Committee has selected three finalists in each group who will be invited to make a short presentation during the virtual award ceremony at ESOF2020.
