About ESPF

The EuroScience Policy Forum (ESPF) is a biennial science policy event organized by EuroScience.

In contrast to ESOF, the ESPF is a smaller dedicated event with the purpose of raising awareness and offering a platform for discussion on highly contemporary topics regarding science policy on a European level.

It’s goal is to define methods on how to effectively integrate Science into the policy-making process since it is an ongoing challenge. The objective is to assess it from many different angles and develop methods for implementation.

The last ESPF took place in 2021 addressing the issue of Sustainable Academia and was organized with several partners also active in this field. The following topics have been discussed during the sessions:

  •        Who are your peers? Expert evaluation in the age of transdisciplinarity
  •        The sustainable Development Goals – The role of Academic research
  •        A new research culture for sustainable academia
  •        Funding, Freedom and Frameworks
  •        The implementation challenge revisited
  •        Data access for research: current challenges and directions towards the future
  •        Responsible Internationalisation: Academic Collaboration Dilemma
  •        Early-Career Researchers – Uncertain lives in an intermediary Zone
